Yoga with Tracy
Tracy is a curious free-spirited explorer who is passionate about adventure and living courageously. Eighteen months ago, she quit her job in London to follow her heart and move to the South West. Inspired by a six-day meditation retreat at The Barn, she relocated to Devon in 2017 and now teaches yoga at Angel Studios Totnes.
Usually found by the ocean or on the Moors, Tracy is happiest when outdoors, barefoot, and surrounded by nature. She is a great believer of living authentically, with gratitude, and in the moment.
For Tracy, yoga is a gift that allows us to stop and look inside ourselves; to explore the processes of our mind and to create greater empathy, compassion and joy in our lives. She believes that yoga is for everyone and is passionate about sharing the transformational practice of yoga with others.
Yoga with Tracy. What is it?
Tracy’s classes draw on the Ashtanga Vinyassa tradition, so expect to find a creative mix of yogasana, meditation, philosophy and play. Teaching from her heart, she believes in the healing power of the breath, in being curious and finding an equal play between strength and softness.
Weekly sessions will combine movement and breath work to explore the mobility of the body and mind with an equal mix of precision, fluidity and self-compassion. Classes build slowly. We begin by pressing pause from our day, connecting to our breath and scanning our physical, mental and emotional bodies. Then we move into a flowing practice, connecting movement with breath. Sequences will be offered at a pace that allows a sense of fluidity at the same time as offering time for correct alignment and a mindful, embodied practice.
Who is it for?
Tracy’s classes are for any level of practitioner, from the total novice to the most advanced practitioner. We’ll be flowing through a variety of different postures, so a basic level of fitness is advised. But options will be given throughout to make the classes accessible for everyone. We are all unique, so it’s important to remember that the emphasis will be on your own personal practice.
Tracy is grateful to have studied with so many wonderful and inspiring teachers including Erin Pritchard, Norman Blair, Shira Hess, Elizabeth Grolle, Eryck Brahmania, Anna Taylor, Luis Valentine, Eyal Chehanowski and Kate Beatty. She holds a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certificate and has completed a 30-hour Yin Yoga intensive. Tracy is also a qualified Mindfulness and Compassion teacher and NLP Practitioner.
