Trapeze Yoga 1- Tuesdays

Come and hang !

Yoga trapeze is a lighthearted and dynamic practice accessible to almost anyone. (with the exception of contraindications)

Reconnect with your physical and mental and emotional strength and your own innate playfulness

It’s a lovely way to take your yoga practice in a new direction. Or, if you suffer from sub-clinical back pain it can be a great support for building strength and opening up the spine, I know so many who use the trapeze primarily to support their spine and manage sub-clinical back problems.

It’s also a wonderful way to try something new and have fun – You will learn a new skill, discover strength in muscles you don’t normally use. Gain a whole new sense of wellbeing by accessing your innate sense of play and feel a real sense of achievement from taking yourself outside of your comfort zone.

For regular yogis, the trapeze is a brilliant assist with your inversion practice. It helps to take away the force of gravity (holding yourself up) as many trapeze inversion asana are passive or partially assisted and the so the need for super strength and balance to support yourself physically whilst you invert just isn’t there.

By simply hanging upside-down there is traction to the spine creating space in the spine and so a fantastic sense of openness and relief if you suffer from back problems.

By using the trapeze you will gain all the benefits of inversion practice , without the pressure on the spine, neck and joints from holding yourself up.

Yoga supports concentration levels, mental functioning and enhances mood due the the release of endorphins and serotonin. It’s helps restore the nervous system to a natural state of homeostasis.

New physical practices like trapeze yoga which involve complex or coordinated movements can improve cognitive function and create new neural pathways.

Taking ourselves out of our comfort zone increases our courage and self confidence and you will be amazed at the end of your disc weeks how much you have achieved and hope far you have come.

Relax at the end of your practice with yoga Nidra and be ready to face what life offers up to you.
